Who we are

Snack Planet is a mobile app made and run by Pingiboo, which is responsible for your data. Questions or requests: write to info@pingiboo.com.

What we collect

Only what the app needs to keep your food passport:

DataWhy
Email address and password To create your account and sign you in. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
Name and nationality Shown on your passport's identity page.
Chosen chef avatar and passport cover colour To personalise your passport.
Meals you add: country, dishes, restaurant name, date and memory note To track your progress, earn stamps and keep your meal history.
Photos you choose to attach to a meal To show them on the meal page and in your trip journal. Only you can see them.
Technical sign-in records (such as sign-in times and IP address) Kept by our service providers to secure accounts and prevent abuse.

The app only uses your camera or photo library when you tap Take photo or Camera roll. It never uses your location, contacts or microphone.

What we don't do

  • No ads and no advertising trackers.
  • No selling or renting of your data, ever.
  • No analytics or profiling of how you use the app.
  • Your meals, notes and photos are private to your account. Other users can't see them.

Where your data is stored

We use two service providers, which handle data only on our behalf:

  • Supabase hosts your account, meals and photos. Access is restricted so that each account can only read its own data, and photos sit in a private storage bucket.
  • Resend sends the emails with your sign-up, password-reset and email-change codes.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your providers may process data outside your country, under their standard data-protection terms. A copy of your passport is also kept on your phone so the app works offline. On phones, your sign-in session is stored encrypted. Signing out clears your data from that phone.

How long we keep it

  • Your data is kept for as long as you have an account.
  • When you remove a single meal, it disappears from the app straight away. It, and any photo attached to it, is permanently erased when you delete your account.
  • Deleting your account erases everything, as described below.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • See and correct your details in the app under Settings → Edit profile.
  • Get a copy of your data, or ask any question about it, by writing to info@pingiboo.com.
  • Delete your account and all its data (see below).

We use your data to provide the service you signed up for. If you are not happy with how we handle it, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

Snack Planet is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Delete your account

Deleting your Snack Planet account permanently erases your profile, every meal, restaurant, note, photo and stamp. It can't be undone.

In the app (instant)

  1. Open Snack Planet and sign in.
  2. Tap the gear on the Passport tab to open Settings.
  3. Go to Account & security → Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your photos are removed first, then your account and all its data.

Without the app

Email info@pingiboo.com with the subject "Delete my Snack Planet account", from the email address you signed up with. We'll confirm the request and delete your account and all its data within 30 days, then reply to let you know it's done.

What gets deleted

  • Your sign-in (email and password), name, nationality, avatar and cover colour.
  • All meals, restaurants, memory notes and stamps.
  • All photos you attached.

Nothing from your account is kept afterwards. If you wrote to us, only that email conversation remains.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
